About 25 to 30 inches fall over Long Island and the Hudson Valley with 60 to 80. The Daily Climate Report (CLI) is produced twice a day, at around 4:30 pm and 1:30 am. More than 4 feet of snow fell at the Buffalo Airport, with various other areas around the state getting at least 24 or more inches of snow. Average annual amounts of snowfall increase rapidly from the coast westward.

Travel around the area was just plain impossible during the storm as many roads were simply impassable, this also was the primary cause for emergency services to not be able to respond to calls for help because nearly 66% of their vehicles stuck in the snow. A nor’easter set to blanket the tristate area Friday night and Saturday, is likely to bury the Island in a blizzard, with a storm track that could spare the city the worst of it.
